Bertus Bogers
Bertus Borgers was not merely associated with the Rockacademie in Tilburg; he is regarded as one of its founding figures and served as director of the programme for many years.
The Rockacademie was the first Dutch higher education programme entirely dedicated to rock, pop and related music genres. There are now several similar programmes, but in the late 1990s the Rockacademie was truly unique. Its graduates include artists such as Duncan Laurence, Eefje de Visser, Floor Jansen, Danny Vera and, of course, the members of Krezip.
Bertus Borgers has more than earned his reputation in the music industry. He founded the band Sweet d’Buster in 1980 and later played saxophone for, among others, Herman Brood and Golden Earring. Herman Brood’s hit Still Believin’ was composed by Borgers. Today, Bertus Borgers continues to perform regularly in a variety of line-ups. In 2025, he released the album Wacht with Brabant Funk.
At the Music Film Festival, music journalist Paul Geerts interviews rocker Bertus Borgers in the Studio. From his childhood band The Evergreens and the Eindhoven-based band Dirty Underwear to the present day, his entire career will be explored. Bertus will also share (and show) his favourite film clips featuring music.
This performance has no interval.
