End your working day on a pleasant note with a Thursday afternoon concert (DoMiCo) at city café Benee. Every second Thursday of the month, it's time for DoMiCo: drinks with musical talent, conviviality and a tasty drink.

In June, the stage belongs to Mieke Verberkt and Kim Wijsbeek of the Tilburg band MIEKS. They will be performing an acoustic set. Mieke’s life journey began like a rollercoaster: born at 27 weeks, yet with an extraordinary fighting spirit she has long embraced her rebellious side to make the very best of life. That fight can be heard in her autobiographical songs, such as Unruled Game, which was immediately nominated for the Top 40 Tip Parade. Her latest singles The Bloody Truth and Final Goodbye were released this year, the latter receiving praise from Luke Spiller, frontman of The Struts. MIEKS has now even reached Yungblud (!), who has taken her into consideration as his new support act.

Together with the band, Mieke channels her fighting strength, resulting in an overwhelming amount of energy that makes “less is more” completely unnecessary. The energetic, enthusiastic and pure character of MIEKS is infectious, and with her mix of soul and rock she knows better than anyone how to convey life’s obstacles and highs. From January 2025 onwards they will be releasing new work non‑stop for 15 months: their debut EP My Bloody Truth was released on 11 April 2025, with new singles on the way — and their debut album will follow in March 2026.

Influences such as Amy Winehouse, Måneskin and Beth Hart can clearly be heard in her music. Through the music of MIEKS, she embodies hope, resilience and refusing to give up — falling back but rising higher, and above all celebrating life.
