The cinematic music of Yannis Kyriakides provides a contemporary counterpart to Debussy’s symphony. His sound compositions are written for the phenomenal soprano Barbara Hannigan. The digital scenography by media artist Heleen Blanken and more than eighty sustainable costumes by Japanese haute couture designer Yuima Nakazato transform the stage into a mysterious, fluid world where beauty and danger go hand in hand. Dance, music, couture and video art come together in this compelling performance.

For La Mer, choreographer Nanine Linning collaborates with an international team of musicians, sopranos, scenographers and designers. Previously, Linning created the successful production Anima Obscura. With La Mer, she moves towards a powerful fusion of vulnerability, beauty and threat on stage.
