Adrenaline
The Ruggeds are hopelessly addicted to adrenaline. It’s what gives them wings. A drive so strong that they are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is physically possible. It is the energy that comes back from the drums they dance to, the breakbeat rhythms that instinctively set them in motion. When adrenaline takes over, The Ruggeds literally hang from the lighting rig and swing through the audience.
A lighting technique by Motion Paintings transforms the stage along with the mood on stage, while the original music by Y’skid and Fortbeige flows through genres such as Jungle, Hip-Hop and House. In the moment, Adrenaline demands all attention. You lose sight of everything around you, sometimes more than you would like. This performance is an exploration of that relationship. Full of acrobatics, risk and energy.
About The Ruggeds
Ten years ago, they made their theatre debut in the Netherlands with Adrenaline. With this performance, they stayed close to themselves and brought their years of polished skills to the theatre. Skills that have been rewarded with world titles in recent years: by winning Battle Of The Year in South Korea and Japan, The Ruggeds have become two-time Breaking World Champions, making them one of the most influential crews in the world.
In Adrenaline, that level is on full display as The Ruggeds take you beyond the spectacular moves and into the movement language of Breaking. Adrenaline has been performed more than 100 times, from New York to Lowlands, from South Africa to China, and with this reprise can now be seen once again in Dutch theatres.
Whether this performance has an interval is not yet known.
