With a capacity of 850 seats in the Schouwburg, 750 in the Concertzaal, and between 160 and 700 guests in the studio, plus over 400 performances and concerts per year, business events, and numerous rentals, our building is bustling with activity day in and day out. We are the stage for theatrical and musical encounters in Tilburg.
In September of last year, we opened the doors of Boove & Benee. In the middle of the Tilburg theater and concert hall, there are two spots where everyone in Tilburg can feel at home. City foyer Boove & City café Benee serve as a living room, clubhouse, restaurant, workspace, and pub all in one. Here, you come to study, meet, game, work, enjoy coffee, have drinks, lunch, or just hang out.
On the first floor – Boove – we developed a city foyer that invites people to come and work flexibly or study from Tuesday to Saturday. There are various seating areas, enough outlets for laptops, pleasant workspaces, and the atmosphere is open, flexible, and welcoming. Students from Fontys retreat here to study, employees from the municipality find a nice flexible spot, the neighbor who can't find peace at home reads a book here, and sometimes someone walks in just curious about the beautiful building. Everyone is free to be here, to stay. A purchase is not required. Visitors may bring their own sandwich, but they can simply scan the menu from downstairs for coffee, a delicious salad, or a bowl of soup using a QR code on the table. If there's a performance in the theater, the city foyer also serves as the cloakroom in the evening. The audience mixes. On performance nights, Boove is also the overflow foyer. With the city foyer, we offer a light, comfortable, and freely accessible public space right in the city.

Host or hostess (voluntary)
We find it important that everyone feels at home in the city foyer, and we are looking for open, friendly, and welcoming hosts and hostesses who, in addition to keeping an eye on things, provide guests with practical information, a smile, special information about the building, and contact with the colleagues of Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg and Boove & Benee when necessary.
You:
- Are the host or hostess of the city foyer. Together with a fellow volunteer, you welcome visitors and ensure a hospitable and pleasant stay for everyone who comes to the city foyer;
- You provide information, direct café visitors to City Café Benee, and involve other departments if you can't answer a question;
- You are also the eyes and ears of the theater. When necessary, you engage with visitors. You maintain direct contact regarding matters with your colleagues from the café and reception;
- We expect that you are available for at least one shift of four hours per week. The working hours for the shifts are from 09:00 to 13:00, 10:00 to 14:00, or from 14:00 to 18:00.
