Two variety artists once formed a legendary duo, until the contact was abruptly broken. When, after ten years, they come together again to perform their most famous sketch one more time, it chafes on all sides. Accusations and frustrations determine the atmosphere between the two grumblers. Working together proves more difficult than expected after all those years.
Only when one of them suffers a heart attack do the sharp edges begin to fade. The Sunshine Boys is a comic and touching performance about two people who, despite everything, remain inseparably connected for a lifetime.
 
For the first time, Bert Visscher and Martin van Waardenberg appear together on stage as actors in The Sunshine Boys. In doing so, they follow in the footsteps of performers such as André van Duin and Johnny Kraaijkamp Jr., in this show about friendship and growing older.
