Dansdagen Tilburg
special
Professional Programme
What if we not only started collaborating differently, but also began looking differently at the value we create together? In this workshop, we explore what multiple value creation can mean for dance. How can theatres, makers, educational institutions, amateur dance organisations and other partners create more value together than any of them could individually?
Arthur Kok and Floortje Smit (Fontys Lectoraat Transforming the Economy) take us through their research into a values-driven economy. Using practical examples, they demonstrate how complex systems, such as a sector or a regional dance ecosystem, can be explored through experience and embodiment, rather than solely through analysis and data.
Together, we then explore what this could mean for the dance hub. What happens when a theatre shares knowledge, audiences and space? When an educational institution has a structural voice within the regional dance ecosystem? When amateur and professional dance are seen as communicating vessels? And when makers and the city jointly determine where and when dance is presented?
We will practise letting go of existing perspectives, often ones we are not even aware of, in order to create space for new ways of seeing and thinking.
Whether this performance has an interval is not yet known.
