Sinar Duo was founded in 2022 by pianist Yik and cellist Linh, who first met while performing Schubert’s Trout Quintet. Their music blends the rich tones of piano and cello with influences from their cultural roots, spanning classical, jazz, and contemporary styles. Known for their creativity, they often include improvisation and unique arrangements.

The duo has performed across the Netherlands and won First Prize at the Nico Vis Chamber Music Competition in 2024. “Sinar,” meaning hope in Malay, reflects their mission: to share music that inspires. After a successful debut concert in Vietnam in 2025, they plan to continue building cultural bridges with future performances in Malaysia and beyond.
