Anima Obscura
Anima Obscura is an immersive and visually overwhelming performance about the longing for immortality. In her first production for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, artistic director Nanine Linning takes you on an emotional journey through time and technology: from the mysterious world of alchemists to the bold experiments of biohackers. Meanwhile, the dancers are in search of the ultimate elixir for immortality.
Linning creates a monumental work of art. An immersive theater experience where choreography, video animation, holograms, costumes, and music merge.
The performance features the masterpiece Ein Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms, in a modern arrangement by composer Yannis Kyriakides. The renowned harpist Milana Zaric performs live and is part of the choreography. International artists also collaborate, such as fashion designer Irina Shaposhnikova and digital scenographer Claudia Rohrmoser, who brings a breathtaking video decor to life using the latest technologies.
